DTS kicks off Practical Data Science & SupTech Frontiers course with 40 students from 14 agencies

DTS has kicked off two new cohorts of the courses "SupTech Frontiers: Financial Supervision in the Age of AI" as well as "AI, Agents & Practical Data Science in Financial Supervision" with 40 students enrolled from 14 financial supervisory agencies. The courses are designed to build hands-on data science capabilities within supervisory institutions — covering data foundations, analytical tooling, machine learning applications for supervision, and the practical deployment of suptech solutions in regulatory workflows. Participants work through real-world case studies drawn from supervisory contexts and interact directly with the GovSpace platform throughout the programme. This cohort reflects the growing demand across the supervisory community for practitioner-level digital skills development, bringing together representatives from: - Banca d'Italia - Bank Negara Malaysia - Bank of Mauritius - Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique de l'Ouest (BCEAO) - Capital Markets Authority Uganda - Central Bank of Nigeria - Financial Services Commission of the British Virgin Islands - Monetary Authority of Singapore - National Bank of Ethiopia - National Bank of Moldova - Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority Botswana (NBFIRA) - Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada (OSFI) - Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) - Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFPs del Peru Interested in joining a future cohort? New article highlights outcomes from Public-Private Secondments for SupTech Innovation initiative

In collaboration with the World Economic Forum, we have published a new article highlighting how financial authorities are strengthening their data practices — and the role of public-private collaboration in accelerating that progress. The piece draws on findings from the State of SupTech Report 2025 and three recent secondment projects delivered through the Public-Private Secondments for SupTech Innovation (PPSSI) initiative. The three case studies featured are: - The National Bank of Moldova partnered with Indonesian fintech DANA to explore a centralized data warehouse, building a sandbox proof-of-concept that demonstrated end-to-end automated supervisory workflows. - The Bank of Mauritius worked with UK-based regtech provider TSO to convert static PDF regulations into machine-readable digital rulebooks, enabling faster update cycles and reduced compliance friction for regulated firms. - A central bank in the Middle East developed a consumer fee transparency tool, with DANA conducting comparative research on governance and data accuracy requirements for such public-facing supervisory tools. The article argues that while suptech adoption is accelerating, weak data governance remains a material constraint — with 38% of financial regulators identifying it as a barrier. Its central message: the next phase of suptech is less about adopting new tools, and more about ensuring strong data foundations. “SupTech and GovTech innovation accelerate inclusion, transparency, and accountability in financial systems — and empower authorities to protect and serve their citizens better.”
