Case study published: Colombia's intelligence-led platform for consumer protection supervision

A new case study documents SmartSupervision, the Financial Superintendency of Colombia's (SFC) intelligence-led platform for consumer protection and market conduct supervision. The platform replaces reactive, case-level complaint handling and static quarterly reporting with continuous data ingestion, advanced analytics, and end-to-end traceability of consumer complaints. SmartSupervision enables near real-time monitoring of complaint volumes, response times, favourability, and behavioural patterns across institutions, products, and regions — supporting risk-based prioritisation and early detection of systemic issues. Supervisory workflows have shifted from ex post compliance checks to preventive, pattern-based analysis grounded in granular data. We congratulate the SFC team for their leadership and are grateful for their continuous support. Download the case study: https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=6298459.
