Innovation Leaders Residency 2024
Rweyemamu Barongo is one of the 11 members of the 2024 cohort of the Innovation Leaders Residency.
After completing the Practical Data Science in Financial Supervision programme, Rweyemamu Barongo, Principal Computer Analyst Programmer at the Bank of Tanzania, sought to leverage suptech to expand financial literacy. He focused his Residency project on developing user-friendly, real-time educational tools, such as a financial education chatbot. Rweyemamu also was instrumental in developing an organisation-wide AI strategy, and pursued further research interests in the areas of economic predictions, liquidity and digital assets.
Over the course of the Residency year, Innovation Leaders gain online support for the enhancement of their skills and competencies, and assistance in taking their projects to the next level, whether they are focusing on implementing the digital transformation of their business unit or on driving the development of a cutting-edge suptech application.
