Distinguished Leadership Across U.S. Financial Institutions

  • He concurrently served as Chair of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) from April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2025 .
  • Previously held senior roles at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, where he led supervision of the global systemically important banks, co‑chaired the Systemic Risk Integration Forum, and contributed to Basel Committee coordination .
  • His early career included critical positions at the Treasury Department, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the International Monetary Fund, where he supported initiatives like the Troubled Asset Relief Program during the 2008 Financial Crisis  .

About Michael J. Hsu

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University, a Master of Science in Finance from George Washington University, and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law . Recognized for his thought leadership, Mr. Hsu has publicly addressed issues including AI governance, financial technology regulation, fairness in banking, and system stability in speeches and testimonies throughout his tenure.

Michael’s appointment marks a milestone in DTS’s advisory structure. His voice will help steer strategic growth, regulatory foresight, and the evolution of governance best practices at the intersection of technology and design.
